Writer - accounting system

I'm a freelance writer and not mega busy while I have four kiddies at home! Can anyone recommend a free accounting system to download? I'm a limited company, very few expenses, mainly invoicing really, in flat rate system for VAT. Thanks!

have a look on the uk business forums accounts board - lots of ideas there

Personally I'd use an excel spreadsheet (and do for a couple of writer clients actually). Not come across anything free which easy deals with flat rate VAT, whereas you can set up excel to manage it easily.

Perma
there is an ebay seller called Towatessa who lurks on here under another name (which she won't tell me the meanie) who sells a spreadsheet that will do what you want for around £15.
I'll get her to contact you.

took me a minute to click your ID on UKBF

I'm lazy - I have the same name everywhere :-)

I just use a spreadsheet - no point spending money on an accounting package when it's really just money in and expenses out.

I agree with just an excel spreadsheet, you don't need anything else for simple income and expenditure accounts.
