My partner and I are possibly (fingers crossed) having our second baby next June. We also have a 3 year old daughter. I work four days a week and have been the main breadwinner. However, crippling child care costs and the fact that I really want to be at home means that I am considering giving up work. Big, big step obviously. We could just make do but my partner is self employed and averages out earnings at about 25,000 a year. Would we be entitled to tax credits? I'm only talking hopefully of taking a year out before trying to get something part time but wondered if anyone else had similar situation?
