Friend of mine lost her job - she has only been there about 9 months - its a bit of a wierd situation as far as I know there has been no issues around her performance until now - and she thinks the company has finanical problems -however when they told her - they raised issues with her performance - what I was wondering is how she deals with it when she goes for another job - I think she will probably manage to get a decent reference -but what does she say - clearly I would have thought avoiding saying sacked for poor performance with out actually lying is the way to go
