Is there any way that Birchwood School can be punished for such blatent sex discrimination. It's outrangous.

I would be tempted to apply and then take them to employment tribunal for not giving an interview. The only problem I have is that I do not meet the perfectly legal criteria of having O'level/ GCSE Art or even an artistic mind. I was told give up art at 14.

It's clearly meant to be a joke based on corporal punishment, or looking for someone with a corporal punishment fetish.

"SIR DOES NOT TRAVEL ANYWHERE" and other little things about this advert make me wonder if this is some pupil's idea of a joke.
