Typing / Transcription work - advice please

Hiya all

I've previously done some transcription work for a big legal case but that was about 8 years ago which I got through a friend. Annoyingly after that I lost his contact number.

I'd be interested in doing this work again (I work 4 days a week as a PA) to bring in some extra income.

I've emailed a local transcription company and they said they'd be interested to see my CV but that they use self-employed transcriptionists who invoice them.

I'd rather be employed to do ad-hoc work really - anyone know the best way to get into this?

Cheers!

I have been doing this about 3 years now. Started off getting work off other companies and now I have my own work and take work off other agencies too to make up my money. This is my only job (I only work part time around my daughter) and I earn around £600 to £800 a month. If you message me I can give you some pointers of who to approach.

I think most transcription companies want you to be self employed, even the ones with regular work.
