I am going back to work in January. My company have offered me 15 hours or 22.5 hours a week, up to me. I would rather do two days of course. I have not claimed tax credits yet because in the year 10-11 we earned over 42,000. I basically don't want to up me earnings (3 days) if it eventually means will receive little or no tax credits and also if I will lose more more to income tax... i am totally useless at all of this...just wonder if anyone else has been through the same thought process before. Sorry if i have totally confused you. TIA.

Hiya. You'll still receive tax credits, but not as much if you work 22.5 hours. Go on the goverment website - there's a calculator on there that will tell you what you'd receive - you'll be able to make a better judgement then. Good luck
