Interview preparation

How long on average do people spend preparing for an interview....days, weeks, hours, minutes? Just curious.

Depends on the interview. For a career job I have prepared thoroughly, so researched, thought of questions/answered, practised etc. Say a week's work on and off around other commitments.

For part time bar/restaurant work, I just turned up looking clean and tidy.
