Applied for a job! Felt like jumping off a cliff

Made myself do it, my confidence is shot after 3 years at home as a SAHM, though objectively I know I have loads of skills/experience.
I don't even really want the job, but the hours are convenient and the money ok..
Anyone else in the same boat?

Well done! I've also just applied for a job but it's something that will give me valuable experience ahead of applying to university for 2012 entry. Have been SAHM for 7 years and am cacking myself about the whole thing!!!

I start a new job soon and it's so scary as I've been a SAHM for 6 years. I previously held very responsible roles so the change in confidence levels is shocking.

Good luck with the application - just think of it as practice and a the first step of a journey

Well done to sending a job application! Like you, I've been home for 3 years and have sent a few of applications. Just had my first interview yesterday and I've been invited for the 2nd round next week. Also have an interview tomorrow, not till 4 pm so I'll be boiling in my suit on the tube.... I was so nervous before the first interview as it had been such a long time but everything went, obviously, fine. Just come in prepared.

Thanks everyone :)
peggotty hope it goes well, and good luck with uni entry next year

ischange wow, good luck, I know what you mean about previous high responsibility (and salary) roles, amazing how confidence ebbs away, isn't it?

Mimie best of luck for tomorrow, you must be doing something right to have got 2nd interview :) I have no idea how you got through 1st one, I think I will die of nerves!

Looking for a job after 4.5 years as a sahm. I do work two evenings in a gym cafe but really needing a bigger challenge either teaching ESOL or back to purchasing / admin as I did before but I am trying find something compatible with oldest child going to school and youngest going to nursery in august. It is near impossible & keep coming back to the thought that my minimum wage job that I can do early shifts on & is round the corner is the best option but it's frustrating!

But well done to you after eight it is quite a thought after a long time out. Hope it all goes well !
