Office Atmosphere

All the girls are going out on Friday night as it is 2 of their birthdays there are 2 of us (me & one partner)that haven't been invited the other was told it was a department thing but I have now found out that it is them plus the receptionist plus some of the neighbouring businesses and some of their friends.
Am I being unreasonable by feeling p'd off at not being invited? especially as they start talking about it and then stop as soon as I come out of my office - do they think I can't hear anything from my office??
There is also an atmosphere as the receptionist would rather sit on ebay all day rather than do the filing and other work that is stacking up and people would rather do the jobs she should as she won't do them properly thus giving us more work!

I would be hurt definitely, do you normally feel tension between them and you or has it come as a bit of a shock? Not sure what to suggest you do. I'd like to confront them and ask why you weren't invoted but deep down would prob not have the guts. Sounds a bit like the school playground though - like our place sometimes!

The thinkg is I wouldn't be able to go because of picking the kids up & getting home as friday is the worst day for travelling. It's just the fact I haven't been asked that gets me.

As for the school playground that is exactly what I said to the partner that wasn't asked & we picked a corner of the car park to play in

I hope they all get drunk & make arses of themselves and feel that they can never go near that pub again! (it's directly oposite our office
