Hi there,

This is a really stupid question, I know, but I just don't have a clue.. I have been able to find out the average rates per word that are being asked, but this 'per word' thing: is that per word in the original text or the target text? And does that mean every single word (including particles etc.)?
Any help much appreciated! (Have been asked to do some translation work - used to do some, years ago, but it was always in-house..)

it's in the target text and includes every word, my agency uses the Word wordcount tool which counts everything. HTH

It depends on the agency as we always used to quote clients based on the source text - the target count usually ends up 15-20% longer IIRC.

Right, cool! I'll just check what gives the highest word count Thanks for that!!
