Stupid question alert

I've set up an ironing service, and created my own website. When I google for "ironing" + my town, I'm listed in the first few results on Google. Would this be the same for everyone, or is it just that I've been on my site several times, therefore Google is listing it artificially high for me?

It's the first time I've ever done a website and am feeling pretty pleased with myself Grin.

It's just personalised for you and your location.

  1. sign out of Google if you are signed in (for Gmail or whatever).
  1. search for anything so you get a results page
  1. click on the gear in the top right corner and click Web History
  1. click "Disable customisations based on search activity"

Now your search results will not be personalised.
