sick leave and holidays

Hi all,

I work part time and had booked this week and last week off as annual leave. On the Thursday before my leave started, I broke my wrist and was off sick on the Friday which would have been my last day before my two weeks off.

I have been advised by some of my friends that I should get a sick note for the two weeks and then get my holidays to take at a later date. I am not sure about this because I would probably have gone to work this week if I hadn't booked holiday and I have been able to drive (automatic car) and do most things despite the plaster.

I just think it would be a bit cheeky to try to do this, but if I am entitled to do it, maybe I should?

Any opinions would be appreciated.

If you were fit for work and would have gone in then no you're not entitled to do it, and your doctor shouldn't give you a sick note anyway.

Yep exactly what i thought, I wouldn't have been comfortable doing it anyway. Thanks flowery.
