office rent keeps going up!

i hire space in a shared office. i take the office on a 3 month contract at a time as not sure how well i'm going to do etc etc..(might end up working back in the bedroom!) anyway, each time i 've had to renew the contract they have hiked the price up saying that office rents are variable ..is this the case across the board or am i being fleeced here?!

You're being fleeced - lots of vacancies - lots of low prices at the moment - does depend where you are of course, but look around for comparisons.

wander round your local area
see what there is that is empty
see how long they will give you rent free and how much rent
then go back to your landlord and HAGGLE or move

You are totally being fleeced. I would look into a longer tenancy with a break clause as you will also get a better deal that way.
