How do you do it so it's not too obvois?

I started my current job few months ago, but I realised that I am not really well suited to this particular role and feel that I may not be in the end offered permanent job

so far I haven't been taking odd days off, just one longer period for summer hols
I don't want my manager to know that I am looking for work

interviews for my type of role are sometimes on the phone first, but then there may be 2 rounds

I know this is possibly question noone would be able to answer :)

whats it got to do with them if you take a wednesday off - you could be waiting in for the dishwasher repairman for all they know

just say you have a personal appointment and book the day off - if its tempory then its not unreasonalbe to be looking anyway

If you want to keep it private, you can either not say, or if you think that makes it obvious you can be "waiting in for a delivery" or for an engineer for the boiler / washing machine / dishwasher.

And machinery can develop another fault if you need a second interview Wink

I think there are going to be lots of deliveries :)
