Hello
i am stuck in a situation i dont know what the best thing is to do. I have a part-time job in the evenings 6:15 till 10pm and have a 20month ds and enjoy being mum. I have worked there for 6 months and recently been signed off work for 2 wks (due to sciatica is that spelt right? its very painfull i know that much) I have really enjoyed being at home in the eveinings again being able to put my son to bed every night. I dont get the chance to see my husband much except for the wkends. I want to hand my notice in. I am pregnant too so after xmas March tme i will go on maternity leve but i just dont want to go back now. I enjoy the job its a grea conmpany to work for but i would rather be at home with my son and my husband. The money is an issue but i litrally pay for the car every month wich just pays to take me to work. If i hand my notice in this week will i still have to go back and work another four weeks for the notice? My husband is going to work more hours so i can always say that i cant go back because of that?

Not sure of legalities.
If you can afford to leave, great, but it is lovely to have some money coming in when the new baby arrives.

Something to think about eh??

How about just cutting down on your hours, if you still need a bit of cash?

I would like to cut the hrs down, i work 15hrs now but if my job was local it would not be as bad. I dont get in unil 10:30pm and it takes ages for me to chill out. End up going to bed late and not very cherpy in the mornings. There is not really any great benefits in money we are still skint due to paying debts off. if i changed jobs to something local will i get it though? being pregant first time round was hard enough trying to get a job. I also know i will not get maternity pay because i have not been there long eough so for the sake of a few months is it wirth staying? Net months pay is only going to be 2 wks wages because i dont get paid for being off sick

Check what you are entitled to re maternity pay. it must be something.

Look at the Maternity Alliance website.
