Mat pay. Anyone got more than stat minimum?

Trying to negociate something better than 6 weeks at 90% then smp.
If so what have you managed to get? And did you agree claw back? Happy to have the pay back in context Id didn't return as defo going back

I know someone who negoiaged a better package - but most people its in their contract already - ie its done for all employees - public sector and some of the large companies tend to give more
what sector are you in?

I work for a small office, and I was given exact amount, and still when they had to pay they were very unhappy.

Lola10 - small companies don't have to pay SMP they get it all plus a bit more back from the goverment -do check they know this!!
its probably just the inconvience of finding cover that they were not that happy about!

Privately owned small company in financial sector. Noone here been on mat leave before. not many women here either for that matter.

Got 16 weeks full pay. Didn't have to pay back but only as I had been with business over 3 years. Didn't go back infact.

Try researching what other similar companies offer. Mine was a big food company so not that comparable but it had recently introduced the 16 week policy to be more competitive on benefits vs other similar businesses.

I was also paid my car allowance and got a bonus when I was off do you have anything like that they could still owe you?

sure big financial sector employers will be paying above statory -do you know anyone at those companies you could ask?
do they pay above startory for other things eg pension, sick pay? and do they try and treat people well in general?

but of course as you know the sector does have a "mixed" record on treating women well - macho culture, long hours etc - and it can get sticky with people preganant maternity leave for lots of reason -so you might want to gauge how things are going before pressing for it

In my area big financial sector company's are not generous in terms of mat pay pension or sick leave! Have worked in large company before this one. I was more interested in what other companies do in other areas...... For eg I know one person who got 2 weeks full, 6 weeks 90% 4 months half pay. Was looking for further examples...
Having been in my industry 15 years now I know only too well what a macho industry it is however this company is owned and run by quite a "family man" unusually.... And I wanted to put foreword something a little more than stat min to see what he says... I will be returning to work before the end of 26 weeks.

public sector standard - is 12 weeks 1/2 pay on top of stat -which is 90% 6week then the rest 120 per week approx - although some areas do 6 months full pay -
some large private sector orgs do 9 or even 12 months full pay

I got 6 months full pay then statutory (so a further 3 months SMP and 3 months nothing). It is very generous, but I was obliged to return for 6 months afterwards or pay back the difference between the company pay and what I'd get as SMP. I work for a big pharmaceutical company.

I know of somebody else who only got statutory but gets a return-to-work bonus of 6 weeks pay if she does return, so maybe they'd be more interested in doing something like that, rather than paying you for not working.

I am only getting the same as you made and will def not be getting anything more:(
