Hi there

Asking for advice for a friend (honest!) who has decided to give up her job after mat leave as they can't accommodate her pt working request. Her & her DH can manage all of the major stuff financially but she would like to earn some extra cash and has thought ironing might be a good idea.

Any ideas if there is still a demand for this given economic climate, what people pay/charge and how any of you have gone about setting it up?

Ta! :)

Depends on the local area. Google is your friend.

Some places I've seen do £1.50 for a shirt. Ask your friend how much she can Iron by the hour then divde through to get a rate which will give her an hourly rate she's happy with.

e.g. She'd have to iron 6.6 Shirts and hour to get £10. But remember that the other stuff (collection? delivery?) will add to the costs and time so that's not just time purely ironing.
