Childcare with 1 at school full time, one in morning nursery, how will it work?

I'm starting a full time course next September and need to think about the childcare practicalities.
Ds1 will be in full time school.
I've applied for a morning nursery place (same school) for ds2 (9.00am - 11.30pm), not decided if we definitely want to do this yet, but obviously needed to get application in.
I'd like to be able to do the following:
Find a childminder who would:
Take the children at 8.00am
Drop them both off at the school in the morning
Pick up and look after ds2 at 11.30am
Go back and pick up ds2 at 3.30pm
Look after both of them until 5.30/6.00

I'm not sure about the school hols at the mo, need to look at a more detailed overview of the course.
I am new to all this, so any advice appreciated.

you should deffo have no probs with pickups esp if the school and nursery are nearish to eachother

the early start and dropping might be more of a prob - no way of you doing the dropping then going on to college - or dropping one at school then dropping one at the childminders for nursery delivery?

Hi, I was a nanny a couple of years back and what you have described matches my job description exactly.

Good luck in your course and finding childcare!

p.s I used to do some cleaning whilst both kiddies were at school and then take the younger one out in the afternoon to an activity / club so we were always doing something.

I think between me and dh we could do the morning drop offs. My course will involve a longish commute (1.5 hrs), but I know there are 2 mornings where I don't have to be there first thing. Dh sometimes works from home, so we could juggle it between us.

There is a creche at the University, but different campus and with long commute I don't think it would be fair on ds2.

Then I've thought about full time nursery for ds2, with afternoon childminding for ds1, but that seems more complicated, with 2 pick ups.

Gawd, this is complicated

it is complicated but i'm sure it will all work out for you. don't go for anything that involves a long journey home for your youngest, ie the uni creche. we had terrible trouble with dd falling asleep on the way home, used to have a huge knock on effect to her sleeping well at night.

My childminder does what you want.

Oh good, just the small matter of finding the right person then

As a childminder, none of this would be a problem. 8.00am start is quite late in this house!!
