Worked as an image/colour consultant?

I'm thinking of training to become an image/colour consultant with the likes of House of Colour. This would be a big career change for me and the idea would be to ultimately give up my (well-paid) job to do it.

Have any of you done this? what are the potential earnings? where did you do the consultations (from home/elsewhere?) Any words of warning?

Thank you!

The training itself is a big outlay I believe (I'm thinking thousands of pounds?) so have you taken that into consideration?
Then I believe you are tied to the company and have to stick with their recommended prices so don't have a great deal of autonomy (although you will be running your own business, not employed by them).
I looked into this a few years ago so my memory might not be 100% accurate with this info.
I think it probably depends on where you are based as to whether you are likely to get clients willing to / able to pay for this service.
I'm sure there is a MNetter who does this though - maybe she'll see this and give you better advice.

I have experience of this as a customer. It was done at her house in her spare room. I can't remember how I found her now, probably an internet search. It was about 5 years ago. I think you would want to try this weekends and evenings first as that is when most people will be available anyway.
