Can i take my Annual leave entitlement straight after 9 months of maternity leave without returning to work?

It's up to your employer. However as you are entitled to take 12 months of maternity leave it's unlikely most employers would refuse. This way you return to work sooner than the 12 months and with no outstanding holiday to disrupt your return.
