Has anyone noticed that Amazon are top of Google searches for pretty much everything now?

I mean the natural listings, not the paid-for adwords.

I've had two successful ecommerce sites for several years now and we've been top of Google for pretty much all of that time. Now it just seems to be bloody Amazon everywhere I look. I first noticed it about a month ago, anyone else?

We're being squeezed out and soon the only options anyone will have for shopping online will be Ebay and Amazon. How depressing is that?

I should add that I'm not just having a whinge here, we're competing on price and our Google results are still high (allbeit under Amazon every time!).

I do think it's a bit suspicious, I suppose.

depends what you are selling
and how you are using your key words
the big players will always whump you on generics
you can always whump them on targeted specifics

I mean for everything, not just the stuff I sell.

They're just right up there, and it seems quite sudden, this universal Amazon presence.

Not for the ten search terms I tried earlier ....

Righty-ho.

Must be imagining it then.

First of all, it's not sudden, it's been like that for ages.

Second of all, of course they are. I would bet they spend billions on things like AdWords and researching keywords and SEO and all that stuff.
