Urgent advice needed

I had an interview for my job.
I got told I didn't get it.
The reason was that I didn't state in the interview that I would be willing to do weekend work.

I currently do a lot of weekend work, I stated it on my R1 form that I am willing to do weekend and evening work. I stated on a written piece of work that I am willing to do weekend work.

The interviewers had that information in front of them.

Can I appeal?

If that's the only reason they gave then, yes, I'd appeal in your shoes

We are having job cuts and a couple are staying and 2 going.
What do I do now.
Do I ring up my union rep and ask him to come round.

I'v tried ringing HR and speak to the women who sat in as a witness but she is out of office.

I'm sat shaking in shock.
