How to find out Maternity Benefits

Hi,

I am new to this forum, and hoping to have kids in the next few years. I am about to change jobs and have a few options, but I wondered if anyone had any advice as to how to find out about Maternity leave rules for new firms. It seems to be something that no-one is willing to reveal!

Any advice? Any idea what is 'normal'?

Most employers only give you your statutory maternity leave which is a total of 52 weeks. If you want all the details see DirectGov here.

Hi, ask for a copy of the employee handbook, that will have all the info in without you specifically having to ask for the maternity leave arrangements!
