Flexible Working Request, help please!

I am desperate need of some help with my flexible working request. I live overseas with DP and DS age 15 months but work use all English employment laws/ protocol.

I work 15 hours a week, was originally meant to be done over 5 hours x 3 days but I have been doing 7.5 hours x 2 days.

The issue is Saturday is our busiest day but as DP works for the same company but in a different department he also works Saturdays but gets in theory one off every month. I tend to be on the rota to work Saturday and Sunday.

As I only work two days we try to sort childcare between ourselves also have struggled to find child care on a Weekend and hours are not 9>5.

I have asked in the past to work either earlier (starting at 8 or 9) or late shifts (starting after 4). I work on the telephones and some one is there from 7:30am till 3am.

Any advice on how to word asking for only early/ late shifts on our busiest day/s?

We were meant to get four weeks notice of our rotas but this has not been happening so it angers me that they expect me to do a flexible working request when they are not keeping their end of deal.

Also other members of staff (not just those with dependents) are allowed to work set shifts/ car sharing shifts/ couples work same shifts. I think the main issue is because DP is in a different department the person who does the rotas can't be bothered to liaise and indeed does ignore any emails my DP/ his boss sends asking about my hours/ if an agreement can be reached.

Apologies that this is super long!
