Do I tell my boss yet?

OK I'm in a dilemma - I'm 22 weeks but have been putting off telling boss as have been put forward for promotion this year. The promotions are agreed by the board on the 4th Nov, letters are written by the 16th Nov and handed out personally on 21st Nov. Up until that point no one except the board, and the secretary who types the letters I suppose, knows what the outcome is.
THe problem is that it is very male dominated company and if I am promoted I will be one of less than 10 women at that level (company is 2500). Much as I like my boss, at the end of the day he's a corporate man and would probably pass on the news to the top brass. I don't trust them not to take my name off the list once they find out.
Trouble is, I was in a meeting with a client today and he spotted the bump and 'outed' me! None of my colleagues were there but the news may spread, though I asked him to keep it quiet. If I miss out on this promotion I realistically don't stand another chance once on maternity leave and doing shorter hours etc when the baby arrives.
Any advice very welcome!

they can't make you iss out on promoation just because of being pg. At 22 wks I am suprised no-one has noticed yet. They would have to give you a good reason not to promoteyou wouldn't they anyway?

I would have thought if they were minded to promote you in any case then the fact that you are pregnant might even tip the balance in your favour - no employer in their right mind would want to be accused of discriminating against a pregnant employee.
But I can see how announcing your pregnancy before the decision could muddy the waters somehow in that you would never really know whether it had a bearing or not - for the avoidance of doubt I would keep it quiet until after the promotions have been announced. You are not legally obliged to notify them anyway until 11 weeks before your EDD.
