ideas / advice needed!!!

My position is being made redundant at the end of June. My intention are to have the summert off with my DDs and my family in Spain. After the summer, my idea was to start looking for a job and full time in Finance. I work now as I Financial Accountant.
Now yesterday I got good/bad news from my family in Spain. The bad news are that my mum has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The good news are the the tumor/lump is very very small so the doctors are very positive with the outcome.
To tell a little bit more, my DH parents live in Scotland so my DDs don't see them as ofter as we would like. My DDs always spent the summer with my family in Spain.
Since the news yesterday I have been thinking I should move to a p/t job or a job with more flexibility (unpaid holidays/ time off ). One of the possibilities could be re-training to be a TA. Another one would be working in temporary positions.
Please!!! any other ideas on what I could do?
TIA
Cecilia

Why do you need to switch careers to do something PT/flexible? If you are qualified you can put yourself on a couple of agents books as a temp accountant - there is usually very high demand and you can choose to take a month off here and there between assignments, etc. give a few agencies in your area a call and see what the demand is like where you live.

Hi Still,
Thanks for the advice. I have to admit it has been always in my mind doing this, but I wasn't sure how the agencies would feel with having someone in their books which would take a month off here and there. But for sure it'll be something I will try come September.
thanks again.
Cecilia
