I've been swithering for a while now and it seems to be getting good reviews recently.

Anyone using it/switched from Sage for it??

I don't like the way it deals with VAT and I don't have any clients that use it, but it is good - much better than Sage.

There are other services available: look at Kashflow (which I also don't like personally) and Accounts Portal (which I do, and it is the one I use for myself and clients - cheaper than Xero too).

Anchovy
What do you think of TAS2?
Multicompany of that is less than single company of Sage and it has some really nice report functions

  • being able to generate 4 columns of annual P&L is well useful for clients
and the 12 month display is great for retailers lack of f6 or remembering descriptions can be a pain though.

Thanks MrA - I'll have a look at Accounts Portal.

What do you do if you get a new client that is already using Sage - do you move them over or let them continue with Sage?

I have always prefered TAS to Sage, although now they are owned by the same company I fear for its future.

For year end work I'll work with a hard copy TB and transaction listings that could have come from anything. If I had a new client wanting in-year work (which I don't do much of - a good bookkeeper is much better value :) ), it would have to be Accounts Portal or Xero.

TAS was bought by Sage about 7 years ago. And the new upgrades of TAS are still coming.
I must admit I still do a bit of hands on as I find it relaxing - and when I go and do internal controls audits, understanding the process makes it easier to know where to look for the loopholes!
