redundancy

so, today i was made redundant - sorry my role was made redundant.

Apparently there is now a 30 day consultation process but when they have a cheque already written for you there is no consultation to be had really.

So, my question really is - is JSA the only benefit available to me? DH earns a good wage and it appears to be above the DHSS Threshold.

I am so peed off and upset - did and didnot see this coming.

Was beginning to put out feelers for a new role anyway but still is a shock.

But as my dear father tells me - pull yourself together, stop crying and there are worse things that can happen!

TIA

www.entitledto.co.uk for details of the benefits you could get.

I could've written exactly the same post a couple of weeks ago, Chablis, last official working date for the company was last week. My redundancy situation was very similar. Had a couple of weeks of not eating and feeling very stressed. Feeling better now. No advice to give, just lots of sympathy. I've just applied for JSA. Don't think I'm entitled to anything else, but will double check.

Getting used to the idea now.

Going in to clear my desk tomorrow and to meet recruitment agencies.

Also, going to sign on tomorrow.

Funny thing is - could have seen it coming last september.

Trying to figure out all I need to do.

Will look at that website - but don't hold out much hope for more than job seeker.
