I have been off work for 18 months , first maternity leave, then annual leave then voluntary redundancy. I recently applied for a job which i did not think i would get (not enough experience or any of supervision or management) but after what i thought was a bad interview I was rejecetd. Then I received a phone call and wasd offered the job as the first candidate had turned it down and I was reserve - so I accepted. As the date for me to go back to work approaches i have started to feel sick and worried about my ability to do the job and have even considered phoning up and saying I cannot take the post. Don't know how anyone can help me but hoping for lots of support!

awww i felt like this before starting my job... and it was only in clarks the shoe shop!
They obviously think you can do the job otherwise they wouldn't have offered it to you
it's natural to be scared... but i am sure there will be people there to show you the ropes!

Just remember you've never worked thier before and so are not expected to know exactly what you are doing. Make sure you know what is expected of you in your new role and what goals they want you to meet and the time scales - most of all remember, they need you more then you need them.

Hiya AM - listen, they know what the job entails, they think you're suitable for it - trust them.

And once you've been there a couple of weeks, you'll wonder what on earth you were worried about as it'll all be really familiar.

Chin up - you'll regret it if you don't take it.

And if it turns out to be crummy, you can leave. But if you never go, you might miss out on something fab!
