Job Applications - clueless

I'm job hunting at the moment having fallen pregnant in my first year of uni and then spending two years at home with 2 DDs. Most job applications seem to have a section on hobbies - does changing nappies count? Seriously, I've not been out of the house in two years, what the hell do I class as a hobby?

And how long realistically should I state I need notice for? How long does it take to find childcare and settle children in?

Thanks

what kind of jobs are you applying for? i wouldn't put any fixed notice period - just say 'negotiable'. realistically it may take a while to find child care you're happy with - if you're serious about returning to work as soon as possible, then you should probably investigate your childcare options before applying for jobs. otherwise how do you know you will be able to take up a position if you're offered it, and whether it will pay enough? childcare is pretty expensive!

I think the notice period is for people currently in employerment - as notice periods do differ quite a lot
Hobbies - the only place I think they can be interesting if you are looking a school leaver/graduate job as it can be place to put other revelvant experience - I don't think its that important - but if you had something you did pre children that was interesting and showed good skills I would put it in.
And totally agree with PP start looking now for childcare -and also work out what if any tax credits - which can cover some childcare costs - but depends on circumstance and imcome - you will get as that can have an impact
good luck
