How can you find out if a company has gone into administration?

A friend's company has apparently gone into administration. It all sounds a bit suspicious. Is there any way she can check?

Thanks

check on companies house website. www.companieshouse.gov.uk
Type in the companies name, if its in admin then there will be insolvency details shown

If it is a limited company you can check for free on companies house website

Thank you

The company is on there but no insolvency details. Any idea how long it takes for the site to be updated?

It can take a week or more. If she is an employee she should either be told by the administrator (meeting of all staff, or a group phone call, etc) or received a letter from the administrator or their staff, if neither she should turn up to work on her normal pattern. HR should know, anyway. Make sure HR tells her the name of the administrator AND the name of the firm they work for, so that she can look that up.
