i dont 'need' to work for money and if i do, it seems a bit pointless as it will just cover the nurseries fees etc...
and i would like to set up my own business too.
but what do i do about pension? DP says not to worry, but still, should i pay into a pension funds? and what about say, the GP and things like that? will i still be able to go for free?

If you start up your own business and start getting an income then you are better off paying voluntary NI. This would entitle you to maternity pay, pensions, JSA etc if you ever needed them. Keeping your NI to to date is a good things to do
You don't have to though.

You still get your GP free yes. Your prescriptions no. But you are still entitled like the rest.

Good luck with it all
