Temping and ill

I work for an employment agency on a temporary contract (12 weeks) and have been ill with a virus for 9 days. I have a fit note issued by my doctor and the agency has seen it but will not respond to my questions about receiving sick pay and whether I will be able to return to my temp assisgnment as there is still 6 weeks to go.

My doctor has recommended that I return to work next Monday. Can the agency sack me for being ill or refuse to pay sick pay? Also, can they terminate my contract?

Any advice appreciated.

Yes they have to pay you SSP.

They can terminate your contract as you've been there for less than a year have no right to tribuneral. In the same they can terminate your contract.

If you read your contract it'll more than likley say that the agency are not obliged to find you any work and can give you a weeks notice (or even a day).
