Anyone worked for this company?
Going for an interview wanted to gauge what they might be like to work for.

Haven't worked for them but I have worked with them on and off over a period of approx 15 years although not regularly lately. I like A&O and the employees I've worked with have all seemed to be happy to work there.

Realise this won't help much but may also be a useful "bump" for you.

What kind of job are you going for? Would answer differently depending whether you're a lawyer or support staff.

As Mrs T says, depends entirely on type of job and level of seniority. IMO, support staff in all the magic circle firms tend to be very well looked after in terms of money, conditions, flexibility, etc, but the payoff is that with you may be pretty 'invisible' to some of the fee-earners (the worst partners will never even ask if you have kids or whatever, much less pretend to care), and also hours may be tough if you work in M&A or similar.

FWIW I also 'like' the A&O staff more than some of their competitors but with all of these firms the client is king and the staff are expected to bend to the client needs night and day; you may not have to do this yourself, but the people who do do this are the ones who get all the brownie points.

Have a look at the inside ino section of rollonfriday.com - focusses on lawyers but gives you an idea of ethos etc.
