Hi all... Tentative post here!

I've been formulating an idea for a new kind of activity club (I don't really want to say too much about the actual theme yet as it's still very rough) for preschool age children - not babies, maybe 2.6-5yrs?

I'm basically just wondering how the hell you go about setting something like this up? I am a cautious person and it's all a bit scary but there is definitely a niche for this where I live.

If anyone has any experience of setting up a kids club and could tell me anything I'd be really grateful. Stuff like money, risk assessment, advertising... tbh I barely know what I'm asking because it is SO different from anything that I've done before.

TIA :)

Would the children be away from their parents? If so you would have to be registered by Ofsted and follow the guidelines for suitable adult: child ratios.

Maybe contact your local Family Information Service to see if they can advise?

Health and Safety Executive may have some hints.

Contact Business Link.

No - it'd be a parent involvement thing, with me leading the activity for an hour or so.

It's sort of educational though... Am wondering would I need to stick to EYFS, or does that not apply because it is a just-for-fun club.

Thanks for the suggestions :)
