In theory (am TTC) how does this work re a second lot of maternity pay? Pay is £18000 pa, company pay 90% of salary for first three months then stat pay.

I'm due to go back in August at the latest (ideally wanted to leave it as late as possible as DS is BF. Am struggling to work out how this will work in Aug anyway...), and I could possibly be as much as 7 months preg by then...

How many months would I need to work min to get mat pay? I was ill in pregnancy last time so I'm also concerned that I will be off on mat leave early again.

I would be entitled to mat allowance if I didnt earn enough, wouldnt I? Plus I should have 25 days holiday to use...

PS If I am 7 months pregnant, are you able to run two lots of mat leave together or do you have to return to work inbetween? If you do, how long for??

You don't have to return to work but unless you return you won't get SMP. SMP is calculated based on average earnings in an 8 week period between weeks 17 and 25 of your pregnancy, so if you don't go back until you are 7 months pregnant you won't be entitled.

Your company offer generous enhanced maternity pay so you will need to read your handbook or maternity policy to see whether you'll be entitled.

Here are the conditions for MA
