I went for a job interview almost a month ago. The interview went well (or so I thought). After spending almost every waking moment checking and rechecking my e-mails and fretting I sent the person who interviewed me a very polite email asking whether I had been successful and if not could I have some feedback as I keen to work for them. I know she read the e-mail but have had no reply.Just totally ignored. I just feel so Confused Shock HmmSad - yes all those apply so I thought I would use them!Grin DH thinks I should contact HR but I am guessing they will just forward the email to the person who interviewed me anyway as the applications went directly to her. I don't want to look like a trouble maker. I am just totally flummoxed by the whole thing.

they could still be making a decision. Why don't you call them up, asking if the position has been filled? You don't need to explain who you are just that you were thinking of applying....

Then, I'm afraid you'll have your answer.

Regarding the feedback though, as unfortunate as it is, it's something that would perhaps take time and money (if there were many candidates) and they just don't feel the need to give feedback.

Sorry, and good luck with future roles.

Thanks. Its still odd though. The job is highly specialised so I suspect not many people would have been interviewed and she told me at the end that she would give me feedback. I just need to chalk it up to excperience and move on don't I.

Hi Carryon, maybe something has happened internally? Could be takeover/ financial problems/ job on hold/ change of business plan? They may be being cagy with nothing to do with you....

They just do unfortunately. There are some rude and inconsiderate people around.

I went for a first interview last year. After three weeks, I emailed twice to try to find out what was happening and heard nothing. A friend told me a similar thing happened to a couple of people who came for interviews at her company. No one ever got back to either of them.

There is obviously something bigger and better for your out there somewhere...

Thank you. You have all made me feel better Smile. Glad I am not the only one. I suspect they don't have the moneyas the sector is not ina good way right now.
