Any Police Officers/Specials out there ?

Just a few quick questions.

I am planning on applying to join the Special Constabulary in late Summer (I will be resigning current job and will have the proper time to commit to it).

1. I know there are problems at the moment with recruitment within the Police. Are Specials still being recruited ?

1. Do I have to pass the standard fitness tests that "proper" Officers take ?
