When do I HAVE to tell work I am pg?

For various reasons I am not ready to tell the world I am pg. When do I have to tell them?

I have my first scan next month but will you toil for that day. Thanks

No sure legally but I told my work when I was 6 1/2 months when I was pregnant with DS2.

You need to tell them no later than the 15th week before your due date (so effectively at 25 weeks).

So I was a bit late then!!!

Thanks guys. I'm site that it wouldn't be news by then as my tummy doing second pregnancy thing and sticking out loads already.

Out of interest, are employers permitted to ask you if you are pg?

It's not normally good practice, but it's not specifically illegal unless they then do something negative to you based on the answer.

If they have health and safety concerns for any reason, they may also have a positive duty to ask.
