Feeling a bit Sad and wallowing a bit but I went for an interview nearly 2 weeks ago. It was in my old line fo work (been off for a few years). Got a very positive vibe from the interview, I though it went well, I answered all the questions well and had a good feeling about it. They talked in a positive way, etc. They didnt say how long it would be before I heard. Since then I have heard nothing. I sent an email 2 days ago to ask politely what the outcome was and still not heard. Its a very specilaised area of work so I doubt there would have been that many people going for it. Just need a bit of sympathy and advice on my next move. It was the only job avaialble in the area I used to work in so was an important interview for me. I am struggling to see how I screwed up so much that they would now ignore me or I woudln't have seen retrospectively. The only thing I can think of is at the end I commented on how lovely the shoes of the interviewer was {blush] as I had seen them the day before in a shop. I am slightly mortified at that. Was very nervous. ConfusedHaving thought about it that was a twatty thing to do.

I can't believe they would really decide against you because of the comment about the shoes. You are pleased with how you performed in the interview - that's great! Not replying to you is probably a sign that they are not decided yet... and that can be for any reason. Maybe they really liked you but they have another good candidate too, maybe they would like to employ you but still have to ok it with various other levels of the hierarchy? I've had interviews where they were torn, didn't want to tell me no, but weren't 100% sure I was the right person. They thought about it and then invited me for a second interview. Etc. etc.. You just don't know what they're thinking so don't beat yourself up about things. But, I can really understand that it's hard waiting to hear! Good luck - but don't project it onto yourself!

Thank you. Big sigh of relief. I think its more likely they havent decided for some reason rather than them not being bothered to reply. That makes more sence to me now I have had time away and calmed down a bit. Thank you.
