Hopefully have another 8mths of mat leave but probably don't want to go back to my p-t local gov job (that's if it still exists and there is a real possibility it might not). Would welcome any suggestions of what I could do next with my rather 'varied' career background. I've got a BSc in Environmental Science and after poly spent a year doing vol work with an environmental charity (as an education assistant) I then did a PGCE (primary) and went back to the charity as a paid education officer, after 2 years I went
to work for another charity doing energy efficiency advice work - after getting really pee'd off with working for small charities (never knowing whether I had a job from one month to the next) I got a job in the education dept of the local council. At first this was as a project assistant doing a variety of one off tasks (consultation/managing specific funds etc etc) but for the last 5+ years the job has morphed into that of an Info officer dealing primarily with the management of information and communication especially around the DPA and FOI. Though I've got experience of working with DPA/FOI I've got little formal training - its all learnt on the job. Anyway not sure if I want to go back to it - that of course if I'm lucky enough to still have the choice - have been thinking about whether I could become a TA and perhaps in a few years do a refresher teaching course (if my PGCE is still wort anything) otherwise I've always fancied doing something healthcare related - anyway would welcome any suggestions - I know its a long way off but would like to plan my next move whether its by choice or circumstances force it on me.
