Hi, I have been freelancing for a few months, and initially only had one contract so just used my existing email address (name@btwhatever).

However I now think I need to have access to some stuff (out of office autoresponder in particular) that my web server (think that's the right term!) doesn't offer.

I think I have two options - open a gmail account, which seems to have all the functions I need, but I can't have the exact email address I want, which might look a bit unprof.

Or register a domain name and set up my email at that domain name.

Option two seems better, but have not the faintest idea how to do it?

Can anyone give me a simple guide???

Have to go out but will check back later - T very very much IA.

Have a look at this thread - you can get a website, email address (so mine is [email protected]) and hosting.

If you don't want a website, you can make that private and just use the email address (it's basically googlemail).
