Any photographers around?

I'm posting on behalf of a friend who specialises in children/family/pregnancy photography. She is really good and regularly wins competitions but until now (youngest child only jus tgone to nursery) she's not been too bothered about getting many paid jobs. She'd like to start doing more and I've said I'll help her market her services. She'd also like to get into commercial work and I've got no idea about that.

If you're a photographer how do you market what you do? And any tips for breaking into commercial work?

I do the accounts for a commercial photographer.
Digital has mashed the market into the ground
the good money used to be in cars and houses - estate agents are always a good bet, especially commercial ones

I think she'd like to stick to people. Ideally magazine photography.
