Notice Redundancy during SMP

As a conciliatory gesture, my employer is considering delaying giving me notice of redundancy (3 months) until 12 weeks after my baby is born. Does this mean I will get full pay - or just that I will have SMP? (contractual ML will have ended by then, I think)?

My line manager isn't too clear about it, but thinks that I won't get a notice period/pay. Am very confused. I will get it in writing, but am worried that they will just give me what I would get anyway (ie SMP leave paid during my 3 month notice period, but not my salary). Am v confused!

Hope this makes sense. Many thanks for any help!!

You'll get SMP. Your notice period is 3 months notice of terminating the contract, they are giving you that and the pay continues as it would normally so if your only getting SMP now then that is all you will get.
