How much do you pay for your after school childcare?

Just wondered what is the going rate? We currently pay £4.50 an hour per child at an after school club, so if we need to use it for 3 hours that is £27, which seems quite a lot to me, how does it compare?

Many Thanks

Think our after school club is £6.50. 3.30-6. No food provided though.

Ours £7.50 for the first child, £7 for second for 3.30pm to 6. Snack provided.
Never heard of paying by the hour. That sounds fun to administer.

HappyMummyOfOne · 06/02/2011 17:43

£7.50 from 3-5.30 inc sandwich, fruit and juice. Slightly more if collecting upto 6pm.

We pay £10 per child (3.15-6.00 pm) - this includes snack of toast, fruit etc.

I pay £7.25 an hour for 2 children to go to a childminder. Thats in Essex.

We pay £18.80 for two of them at after school club 3.15 - 6, including a snack, whcih I think is pretty good. Thats for the two of them, not each..

2 euros per day in Brussels. I feel very, very fortunate!

PollyMorfic · 08/02/2011 14:00

Up until last term we used to pay £3 a session (3.30pm to 6pm) with snacks and activities (fencing, karate, ceramics, junk modelling) for free. Which was a bargain.

It has now gone up to £7.50 a session, with an extra £2.50 for activities. Shock

I think this is still a reasonable charge in the great scheme of things, but it's a massive increase. This is an inner-city primary school with a very local (not m/c) intake.

Thanks everyone, seems like we are already paying quite a bit more than everyone else. Definitely something to think about,

Crikey, I'm keeping my head down. £5.10 per child, collected 3.20, can stay until 6.00 pm. They make their own tea - sometimes wraps, sandwiches, sometimes make and bake pizza or more substantial. Help with homework if they want it, or just play/Wii/DVD/Footie

mrsgetonwithit · 09/02/2011 17:50

£5.00 per child from 3.15pm - 6pm, at my sons school just checked the website.

LawrieMarlow · 09/02/2011 17:54

Think it's £6.50 or £7 per child at school's after school club until 6pm. Not sure whether there is a snack or not.

morleylass · 09/02/2011 19:19

Oh Wow, we really seem to be paying more than anyone else, and it is going to be going up Shock
