I expect lots of people have. Why do you ask?

yummincepie · 04/02/2011 15:48

was going to pull one this weekend, but feeling so guilty about it!

If you feel guilty about it don't do it. I have caught people pulling sickies before now and take it very seriously, it leaves you thought of as untrustworthy.

No, have never taken a sickie if I was not sick.

In the present economic climate with redundancies etc, do you think it wise to pull a sicky?

I've got a broken nose, two black eyes, stitches and concussion - work have seen me since the fall so are aware of how awful it looks - and I'm being made to feel guilty about taking time off after being referred back to A&E by Occ Health and told not to come in for the rest of the week. Definitely not worth the guilt of actually skiving! Book some leave or some unpaid time off if you feel you need a break. It's fairer on your colleagues too - after all, they'll have to cover for you.
