Fathers rights while on paternity leave

Goodness knows if anyone has any idea or advice about this! My husband is taking holiday next week when our dc is born by Elcs, he is then taking 2 weeks paternity leave so he'll be off for almost 3 weeks. His manager is being extremely shifty and we suspect he is going to change dh's job while he is off (he has done this to people before) and, whilst not cutting his pay, will effectively be demoting him. Does anyone have any idea about dh's rights? I'm a teacher so if it was me I could turn to my union but don't really know who to ask about his issues!

His boss has no more right to do this when your DH is on paternity leave than he would if he was in the office.

Depending on what the changes are, it may be a change to terms and conditions which would require your DH's consent anyway, regardless of whether he's on paternity leave.

It depends what the change is though.
