OK, am applying for a job after being a SAHM for 11 years. Have helped out at school doing various things, but the job is for the same as I did before kids. There is only a very brief job description which I have addressed, but the section on the form which says relevant skills, interests, etc is only half full. There is a full A4 page and I really don't have much to put. Does that matter? I don't want to fill it for the sake of it. As they haven't gone into much detail on the job itself (accounts assistant) what else can I put?

Any advice would be very welcome.

Have you covered;

  • IT Skills
  • Experience with people over the last 11 years (so they dont think you've been a hermit)
  • Explanation for gap in employment?

If you have, then I guess there's not much more to add. I think better to fill most of the space, but not with irrelevant stuff, can you adjust the font size to fill it a bit more?

Thanks ballstoit. I think I've covered most of that. I did think about increasing the font size, but thought that would look a bit cheaty!
