Freelancer and going back to work ...

Hi , I'm a freelancer and have to go back to work , my babygirl is almost 6 months and the thought of leave her with a stranger is hard enough but also to know which care is best ...
Being selfemployed there are no childvouchers and we can't claim taxcredits . Work comes in on random days and usually they are long ,so need someone to put her to bed as well..
Does anyone have advice, or is in the same situation and thinking of sharing childcare or know of a mum whom could do with some extra money living in south hackney area ?

Just want to say that I freelanced for nearly 5 years while having my children and still do the occasional bit. It depends what you do for work but I often worked around the children's naps and in evenings & weekends to save on childcare but then my work is computer-based, I worked from home and rarely even had to make a phone call.

Ad hoc childcare is difficult to find but there are more options in London - I would look for a nanny share ie, a nanny who has sole charge of another child but would be able to take your baby as when you needed. Best of luck! Be prepared for childcare to take all your wages however but it is worth doing a bit of freelance if only to put something on your CV.
