Thinking about babies, started new job

DH and I were talking tonight. I started my job in late December which put off our TTC but know talking a bit about it now... Say July/Aug time, is it a bit unrealistic and unprofessional to think about being pregnant when my year review (next dec) and even consider having an addition so soon after starting a new job?

Erm, not intentionally. I found out I was expecting DC2 3 months into a new job. They didn't bat an eyelid, in fact my boss was over the moon for me. I had the baby exactly a year to the day after I started the job.

You would be breaking no laws, you'd be fully entitled to mat leave etc. Only thing to check is if they do an enhanced package for longer service which would be worth holding on for. My company do it as a return to work bonus, so didn't matter that I'd not been there long.

As my boss said to me "there are some things which are more important than x". You have no idea until you try how hard it will be to conceive. It depends on your age etc - but if you feel your biological clock is ticking - do not feel that you should wait because you might feel guilty.

FWIW a good friend of mine was offered an excellent job when pregnant as they were looking at the long term.
